The Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), The Maldives National University (MNU), worked with the Health Protection Agency to organise a measles and rubella vaccination programme for MNU students and staff from 7 to 24 July 2026.
The programme was designed to improve protection against vaccine-preventable disease, support the national outbreak response and maintain a safer learning environment.
Making vaccination available to the university community links campus health promotion with wider disease prevention efforts.
The vaccination initiative supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through prevention of measles and rubella and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between MNU and the Health Protection Agency.
