A personal development session titled “Positive Thinking” focused on helping university staff approach everyday challenges with a constructive and realistic mindset, supporting personal well-being and a more inclusive working environment.
The training encouraged reflection on everyday difficulties, alternative perspectives and practical responses to setbacks. Its focus included recognising unhelpful thought patterns, identifying personal strengths and setting achievable goals to build self-awareness and confidence.
Respectful communication and supportive relationships were also central themes, highlighting the importance of empathy and mutual respect in strengthening workplace cooperation.
By connecting positive thinking with realistic problem-solving, the session aimed to help staff respond thoughtfully to challenges. Its emphasis on lifelong learning, personal development and supportive professional relationships reflected the wider value of creating a university workplace where staff can learn, contribute and thrive.
