The Maldives National University (MNU) and University of Northumbria have taken a significant step towards fostering academic excellence and research innovations. On December 02nd, 2024, both institutions formalized their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a ceremony that marked the beginning of a promising collaboration.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Aishath Shehenaaz Adam, Vice Chancellor of MNU, and Tom Allardyce (Director global partnerships) representing Northumbria University. The ceremony was graced by state minister of higher Education, Labor and skills development Mr. Ahmed Shafeeu, senior management from MNU and representatives from Northumbria University.
The primary purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed today is to initiate and explore research activities between two universities. This collaboration will open exciting opportunities for faculty members and students to engage in meaningful research that addresses both local and global challenges.
