MNU Libraries Raise Awareness of Mental Health Through Interactive Activities

25 October 2026

MNU Libraries organised a one-day programme of activities and awareness displays in collaboration with Student Support Services to mark World Mental Health Day 2026. The activities took place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. under this year’s theme, “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”

The initiative aimed to raise awareness of mental health, promote empathy and understanding, and highlight the importance of listening to the lived experiences of people affected by mental health conditions.

The programme featured interactive activities, including memory games, puzzles, Scattergories, and other engaging activities designed to encourage participation among the university community. Awareness displays were also prepared to communicate key messages about mental health and the importance of fostering a supportive environment.

The participating libraries were Central Library, Business Studies Library, Health Sciences Library, Hithadhoo Campus Library, Kulhudhuffushi Campus Library, Thinadhoo Campus Library, and Gan Campus Library.

Through this initiative, MNU Libraries continued to support mental health awareness and contribute to building a more informed, empathetic, and supportive university community.
