The Maldives National University (MNU) has officially inaugurated “MNU InnovateHub”, the first university-led business incubator in the Maldives, marking a major milestone in advancing student entrepreneurship and innovation. The launch event was held on 4 July 2024.
MNU stated that the MNU InnovateHub aims to support students in developing their ideas, refining proposals, and creating prototypes through structured mentorship, workshops, networking and funding opportunities.
The programme offers three tiers of seed-capital funding for student-led ventures:

Small-scale initiatives: up to MVR 50,000

Medium-scale initiatives: up to MVR 225,000

Large-scale initiatives: up to MVR 500,000
This initiative is designed to help transform innovative student ideas into viable commercial projects while contributing to national priorities, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the broader vision for innovation and sustainable development in the Maldives.
