The Maldives National University (MNU) Kulhudhuffushi Campus held a tree planting event on 27 September 2025 in support of the Government of Maldives’ 5 Million Tree Planting Pledge. The initiative reflected the university’s commitment to environmental sustainability, conservation, and community engagement.
The event aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage tree planting and conservation, and inspire students and staff to contribute actively to national sustainability efforts. Trees were planted within the campus premises, contributing to a greener and more environmentally friendly campus.
The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. Ahmed Azman Moosa, Senior Political Director of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, as the Chief Guest. Also in attendance was Mr. Ismail Razeen Imran, MNU Council Student Representative and Senior Political Director of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, alongside the Campus Manager, staff members, and students of MNU Kulhudhuffushi Campus.
The event was well received and strengthened environmental awareness and a sense of shared responsibility among participants. It highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices.
Through this initiative, MNU Kulhudhuffushi Campus contributed to national environmental conservation efforts while reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, community participation, and national development goals.
