The Maldives National University (MNU) today officially formalised and announced a strategic partnership with Spark Hub through a Partnership Formalising Ceremony, marking an important step in strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship, and student capacity-building in the Maldives.
This strategic collaboration brings together MNU and Spark Hub under a shared vision to empower students, nurture innovative thinking, and support the development of entrepreneurship-led solutions that address real-world challenges. The partnership reflects a mutual commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive innovation ecosystem within the University and beyond.
MNU InnovateHub powered by Dhiraagu, the first university incubator in the Maldives, provides a structured platform for students to develop innovative, practical, and scalable ideas. The programme focuses on ideation, validation, mentorship, capacity building, and early-stage venture development, and is aligned with MNU’s Strategic Goals and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Under this strategic partnership, Spark Hub will act as a programme partner for MNU InnovateHub powered by Dhiraagu, supporting programme through mentorship, capacity-building workshops, expert sessions, and also provide broader support across the programme, offering students practical insights informed by industry and entrepreneurial experience.
The formalisation of this partnership represents a shared investment in developing future innovators and entrepreneurs, reinforcing MNU’s role in equipping students with the skills, confidence, and exposure required to succeed in a rapidly evolving economic landscape. By combining academic foundations with applied innovation expertise, the partnership aims to enhance students’ readiness to transform ideas into sustainable ventures.
This collaboration stands as a testament to the value of university–innovation ecosystem partnerships in empowering youth, strengthening entrepreneurial capacity, and contributing to sustainable national development in the Maldives.
