Malé, Maldives – 22 September 2025 – The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS) of The Maldives National University (MNU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sirru Fen Fushi – Private Lagoon Resort, Shaviyani Atoll.
The partnership aims to strengthen student work placements, internships, and training opportunities for Maldivian students pursuing hospitality and tourism education. Under the MoU, FHTS students will gain structured industry exposure at the Resort across key operational areas, enhancing their skills and employability.
The collaboration also supports strengthening local human capital, staff training, and knowledge exchange between academia and industry. Both parties emphasized the importance of preparing future professionals with hands-on experience to meet the evolving needs of the Maldives’ world-class tourism sector.
This agreement reaffirms MNU FHTS’s commitment to bridging theory and practice, while Sirru Fen Fushi continues its dedication to nurturing local talent and sustainable tourism development.
