The Maldives National University and the Maldives Ports Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in maritime education, training, and research. The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation aimed at strengthening academic and professional linkages between the two institutions, with a particular focus on advancing the Maldives’ maritime sector.
The Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed by Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam, Vice Chancellor of MNU, and Mr. Mohamed Mueen, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MPL. Under this partnership, MNU and MPL will explore various areas of collaboration, including the exchange of academic and technical information, joint research initiatives, participation in seminars, conferences, and training programs related to maritime education and operations, as well as the sharing of institutional best practices. The MoU also covers the joint development, delivery, and review of maritime education and training programs to ensure alignment with industry needs.
MNU and MPL emphasized the importance of this collaboration in strengthening the maritime workforce, promoting innovation, and supporting national efforts to build capacity in the sector. This partnership marks another milestone in MNU’s ongoing commitment to expanding industry collaboration and developing programs that contribute to national development and economic growth.
