The MNU Business School was honored to have our Assistant Professor, Dr. Aminath Sudha, address the Islamabad Conclave 2025, the annual flagship dialogue forum of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), held on 3–4 December under the theme “Re-imagining South Asia: Security, Economy, Climate, Connectivity.” Bringing together policymakers, diplomats, scholars, and regional experts, the Conclave focused on advancing cooperative strategies for a more integrated and resilient South Asia.
Speaking on “Regional Connectivity: South Asia’s Pathway to an Inclusive Global South Order,” Dr. Sudha highlighted the region’s paradox of strong economic growth yet weak integration. She called for overcoming political fragmentation and protectionism, and emphasized that connectivity must extend beyond infrastructure to include digital cooperation, people-to-people engagement, and knowledge networks. Citing examples such as the Maldives’ emerging sea-to-air cargo hub and successful border haats, she urged pragmatic reforms, multi-speed regionalism through platforms like BIMSTEC and SASEC, and stronger political will. Her key message: a more connected South Asia is essential for shaping the future of the Global South.
