The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, in collaboration with The Maldives National University Business School (MNUBS), successfully held an IP Awareness session titled “How to Make a Living in the Creative Industries.”

The session featured an insightful presentation by Mr. Andrew Michael Ong, Director for Asia and the Pacific at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), highlighting the role of intellectual property in supporting creative professionals and fostering innovation within the creative industries.

This initiative supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by expanding knowledge of intellectual property and its applications, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by supporting livelihoods and enterprise in the creative industries, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by bringing together the university, government and an international organisation.
