International Conference on Accreditation and Internationalisation Held at HEC Secretariat in Islamabad
The International Conference on Accreditation and Internationalisation in South Asian Higher Education Institutions took place at the HEC Secretariat in Islamabad on 3rd June 2024. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum, Executive Director of HEC, honored the event as the Chief Guest. The conference was co-organized by the Quality Assurance Agency, HEC, and FAST-National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences.
This gathering marked the conclusion of the ERASMUS+-funded project “Strategic Support for Accreditation of Programs and Internationalization at South Asian Higher Education Institutions.” Presenters from Portugal, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan shared valuable insights and recommendations on the topics of internationalisation and accreditation in higher education institutions (HEIs). The event drew approximately 100 in-person attendees from various universities, with over 100 participants joining virtually.
In his address, Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among South Asian universities. Mr. Nasir Shah, Director General of the Quality Assurance Agency, and Dr. Amir Qayyum, SSAPI Project Coordinator, also shared their perspectives during the opening ceremony.
