The Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), The Maldives National University (MNU), delivered a full-day Basic First Aid Training session for 20 M7 staff on 28 June 2025. The training covered immediate responses to common emergencies before professional medical help arrives.
Practical demonstrations introduced essential first aid principles and emphasised safe, appropriate action. Participants described the session as useful for real situations and requested periodic refresher training. The programme supported emergency preparedness in workplace and community settings.
Practical first aid knowledge can help staff recognise emergencies, respond safely and seek appropriate medical assistance.
The training supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through emergency preparedness, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through practical staff training, and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through stronger capacity to respond in workplaces and communities.
