An awareness session on the negative impacts of tobacco use, along with an overview of the Tobacco Act and Tobacco Regulations, was conducted for the staff of MNU Thinadhoo Campus by Mr. Hassan Mohamed from the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
The session focused on strengthening staff understanding of tobacco-related harms and improving awareness of key national laws and regulations that guide tobacco control in the Maldives. Participants were informed about the health risks associated with tobacco use and the importance of complying with existing legal provisions aimed at protecting public health.
The session also provided a valuable opportunity for staff to ask questions, clarify concerns, and engage in discussion on how tobacco control measures contribute to building healthier workplaces and communities.
