19 June 2025

On 18 and 19 June 2025, Senior Lecturer Asif Abdulla facilitated a series of “Smart Learning” workshops for students from Th. Guraidhoo School, and Th. Veymandoo School.

The workshops were designed to strengthen students’ understanding of effective learning approaches and develop the skills needed for independent, self-directed, and technology-supported learning. Sessions focused on practical areas including study skills, digital literacy, learning strategies, critical thinking, time management, and the effective use of available learning resources.

Through interactive activities and guidance, students were encouraged to develop strategies that can support academic success and help them become more confident and active learners. The programme also emphasised the importance of developing learning habits that support lifelong learning.

Mr. Shareef’s engagement with students across regional schools reflects the university’s commitment to community outreach, student development, and expanding access to educational support.

The initiative contributes to Quality Education by strengthening students’ learning skills and promoting effective, learner-centred educational approaches. It also supports Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by encouraging the effective use of digital tools and innovative learning strategies, while advancing Reduced Inequalities by providing learning development opportunities to students from diverse communities.
