The Maldives National University (MNU) Library participated in the University’s “Know Your University” event on 15 October 2026, under the theme “Library – Make It Your Vibe.” The initiative was carried out across MNU libraries, excluding the Maritime Library, from 14:00 to 17:00. It provided an opportunity for members of the university community to explore the diverse services, resources, facilities and activities offered by MNU Library.

Under the message “There’s More to Your Library Than Meets the Eye,” the initiative aimed to raise awareness of the Library’s role beyond borrowing and returning books. Visitors were introduced to the work carried out behind the scenes, including accessioning, cataloguing and book processing, which helps ensure that library materials are organized and made accessible to users.

The event also highlighted the Library’s facilities, services and resources that support students’ academic journeys, including learning, teaching and research. Through interactive activities and engagement with library staff, members of the university community had the opportunity to discover more about how the Library operates and how they can make effective use of its resources and services.

Through its participation, MNU Library reaffirmed its commitment to engaging with the university community, promoting awareness of its services and encouraging students and staff to make the Library an active part of their university experience.
