Arabic Crash Course Opens Accessible Pathways to Language Learning

18 August 2024

The Faculty of Arts, Maldives National University, conducted an Arabic Crash Course to provide prospective students with an accessible introduction to Arabic language learning. The course offered participants an opportunity to develop basic conversational skills while experiencing the teaching approach and learning environment of the Arabic programme.

Through this introductory learning opportunity, participants were able to build confidence in using Arabic and gain a better understanding of the programme before making informed decisions about further study. By creating an accessible entry point to language education, the initiative encouraged wider participation in learning and supported greater appreciation of linguistic and cultural diversity.

The course contributed to inclusive and equitable access to quality education by providing prospective learners with practical language-learning opportunities. It also promoted greater understanding across linguistic and cultural contexts, supporting inclusive participation and intercultural awareness.

The initiative aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4: Quality Education, 10: Reduced Inequalities, and 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
