The Maldives National University Business School (MNUBS), in collaboration with the Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS), conducted a webinar for local councils focused on promoting the value of data for stronger councils and communities.
The session underscored the role of reliable data in informed decision-making and effective local governance, drawing on the principle that “without data, you’re just another person with an opinion,” as famously stated by W. Edwards Deming.
MNUBS extends its thanks to all participants and to the dedicated team behind the scenes who made the event a success, and expresses its gratitude for the collaboration with MBS in advancing data literacy at the community level.
The faculty also invites those interested in turning data into impact to explore its Bachelor of Statistics programme at The Maldives National University and become part of the next generation of data-driven leaders.
This initiative supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting data literacy and expanding access to statistics education, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by strengthening evidence-based decision-making, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by bringing together the university and the Maldives Bureau of Statistics.
