The Maldives National University (MNU) hosted an engaging “Know Your University” event through its Faculty of Education (FE) on 1 October 2026, providing staff with an opportunity to learn more about the Faculty’s history, academic programmes, facilities, services, and learning environment.
Held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the B-Block Ground Floor, the event brought together MNU staff for an interactive session aimed at strengthening their understanding of the Faculty and its contribution to teacher education and the wider education sector.
During the session, participants were introduced to the Faculty’s academic programmes, key facilities, student and staff services, and its development and history within MNU. The event also highlighted the Faculty’s commitment to teaching innovation, professional development, and fostering supportive and inclusive learning environments.
The initiative provided an opportunity for staff to become more familiar with the resources and services available within the Faculty, while encouraging greater engagement, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration across the University community.
The event contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education, by promoting quality learning and continuous professional development. It also aligns with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through its emphasis on professional growth and strengthening staff capacity, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, by supporting inclusive and accessible learning environments. In addition, the initiative supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by encouraging collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the University community.
Through initiatives such as “Know Your University,” The Maldives National University continues to strengthen a connected and collaborative university community while fostering an environment that supports quality teaching, continuous learning, innovation, professional development, and inclusive education.
