Islamic Psychology Awareness Sessions Support the Development of a Local Professional Network

1 March 2024

From March to August 2024, Ibrahim Ismail conducted a series of introductory sessions on Islamic Psychology for active members and the task force of the ISIP Maldives Chapter.

The sessions were designed to strengthen participants’ foundational knowledge and understanding of Islamic Psychology, providing an opportunity to explore key concepts and engage in discussion about the field.

In addition to contributing as a facilitator, Ibrahim supported the formation and development of an Islamic Psychology network in the Maldives, serving as an advisor and contributor in association with the International Students of Islamic Psychology (ISIP).

The initiative provided a platform for knowledge sharing and professional engagement among members of the local chapter and its seven-member task force. It also supported efforts to build connections among individuals interested in the development of Islamic Psychology within the Maldivian context.

Through these activities, the initiative contributed to the development of local capacity and professional networks while promoting greater awareness of perspectives within Islamic Psychology. It aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through engagement with psychological wellbeing, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through knowledge development, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration and network building.
