The Faculty of Health Sciences’ newsletter “Heyhan” featured a Dhivehi-language article introducing readers to the concept and movement of Islamic Psychology.
Written by Ibrahim Ismail and published on 11 July 2024, the article provided a brief introduction to Islamic Psychology for a Dhivehi-speaking audience. Presenting psychological knowledge in Dhivehi helped make the topic more accessible to readers and encouraged greater awareness of culturally relevant perspectives within the field of psychology.
The article contributed to broader public engagement with psychological knowledge while highlighting the importance of considering cultural and contextual perspectives in understanding mental health and psychological wellbeing.
By providing educational content in the local language, the initiative supported greater access to knowledge and encouraged public awareness of diverse perspectives within psychology. It also contributed to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through the dissemination of psychological knowledge and SDG 4 (Quality Education) through accessible educational content for the wider community.
