Students from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS) participated in VARA Expo 2025 on 17 November 2025, gaining an opportunity to apply their hospitality knowledge and practical skills in an interactive, public-facing environment.

In the Skills Zone, students showcased a professional fine-dining table setup, demonstrating dining presentation, table arrangement, service standards, and attention to detail. Visitors were also invited to try table setting themselves, allowing students to share their knowledge and practise communication and customer interaction.

In the Food & Beverage Zone, FHTS operated a canteen stall where students gained practical experience in food and beverage preparation, service, customer interaction, and day-to-day operations. The experience also highlighted the importance of careful planning and the responsible use of resources in supporting responsible consumption and production within food and beverage operations.

Together, the activities provided valuable experiential learning, allowing students to apply classroom learning in a practical setting. Through direct interaction with visitors and involvement in hospitality operations, students strengthened their teamwork, communication, customer service, and skills for the workplace.

Participation in VARA Expo also provided opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration beyond the classroom. The experience helped connect students with the world of work while developing the practical skills and confidence needed for future careers in hospitality and tourism.
