The Robotics Hackathon 2025 was organized by the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology to strengthen practical, innovation ocused learning among students. The activity challenged participants to design, build, program, test, and demonstrate a robot capable of picking an object from one location and placing it accurately at another designated location. Through this hands-on task, students applied knowledge of electronics, robotics, programming, sensors, motor control, mechanical design, and system integration. The hackathon supported MNU’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting experiential and student centred learning; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by encouraging engineering creativity and technological problem-solving; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration among students, mentors, judges, and faculty members. The activity helped students connect classroom theory with practical innovation relevant to future national development, while building confidence, teamwork, resilience, and interest in robotics and engineering careers.
