MNU Libraries Welcome Students to the Second Semester with “Unlock Your Success” Initiative

The Maldives National University (MNU) Libraries have welcomed students to the second semester with a creative and interactive initiative themed “Unlock Your Success, The Library Has the Key.”

The initiative has been carried out across all eight MNU Libraries, Central Library, Business Studies Library, Health Sciences Library, Kulhudhuffushi Campus Library, Gan Campus Library, Thinadhoo Campus Library, Hithadhoo Campus Library, and Maritime Library, with each library preparing its own creative display to welcome students and inspire them at the start of the semester.

The displays highlight the wide range of library resources and support services available to students, including books, eBooks, journals, databases, OPAC, study spaces, research assistance, referencing support, and workshops. Through creative and interactive activities, students are encouraged to reflect on their academic goals, study habits, and the different ways the Library can support their success throughout the semester.

Activities featured across the libraries include “Every Piece Matters,” “Build the Semester Puzzle,” and “What Will Help You Succeed This Semester?” These activities provide students with opportunities to engage with the Library while thinking about the resources, skills, and support they can use to achieve their goals.

The “Blind Date with a Book” activity adds an element of surprise, inviting students to select a wrapped book without knowing its title and encouraging them to discover new books and make reading part of their semester.

Through the “Unlock Your Success” initiative, MNU Libraries aim to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment and remind students that the Library is more than a place for books. It is a space to explore, learn, connect, and grow throughout their academic journey.

The initiative reflects MNU Libraries’ continued commitment to supporting student learning and ensuring that students are aware of the resources, services, and opportunities available to help them succeed.
