Dr. Raheema Abdul Raheem Calls for Continued Collaboration to Advance Research Excellence in Closing Remarks

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) of the Maldives National University (MNU), Dr. Raheema Abdul Raheem, delivered the closing remarks at the 9th International Theveli Conference 2026, highlighting the importance of collaboration, knowledge exchange and collective effort in advancing research excellence.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Raheema expressed her appreciation to the keynote speakers, international participants, researchers, academics, students and all those who contributed to the success of the conference. She emphasized that Theveli provides an important platform for bringing together members of the research community to exchange knowledge, experiences and ideas.

Reflecting on the conference, she said:

“I hope this conference continues to bring together researchers, academics and professionals nationally and internationally to deliberate on important issues.”

Dr. Raheema also highlighted the value of Theveli in creating opportunities for research students and emerging academics to engage with established researchers and academics, allowing them to discuss current research as well as the merits and challenges of conducting research.

She acknowledged that the successful delivery of an international conference requires the combined efforts of many teams across the university. In particular, she commended Dr. Mariyam Shahuneeza Naseer and the Research Development Office for their dedication, while expressing gratitude to the university’s Marketing, IT, Facilities Management, Projects, Procurement, Finance and Administration teams, Secretariat, moderators and reviewers.

“Major events like an international conference take place because of the synergy, collaboration and cooperation of various departments within MNU,” Dr. Raheema remarked.

She also recognized the contribution of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS), noting the creative and welcoming efforts of its staff and students throughout the conference.

Concluding her remarks, Dr. Raheema wished all participants a rewarding experience and expressed her hopes for the continued growth of Theveli as an international research platform.

“I wish all the participants a rewarding conference and envision the 10th MNU International Conference – THEVELI in 2027 attracting an even broader participation of students, staff, and researchers worldwide.”

Her closing remarks underscored MNU’s commitment to strengthening research networks, supporting emerging academics and creating opportunities for national and international collaboration through Theveli and future research initiatives.
