The Maldives National University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of William & Mary (W&M), marking a significant step toward strengthening international academic collaboration and research partnerships.
The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation between the two institutions, guided by principles of equality, mutual benefit, and shared commitment to addressing global and regional challenges through research and knowledge exchange.
Under the agreement, MNU and W&M will work together in several key areas, including the development and implementation of joint research projects, particularly on topics such as sea-level rise, small island nations, climate resilience, and other areas of mutual interest. The partnership will also facilitate the exchange of research data and information, enabling both institutions to strengthen scholarly activities and enhance research outcomes.
In addition, the collaboration will support a range of academic and professional development initiatives, including training opportunities, human resource development, and experiential learning programs that benefit students, faculty, and researchers from both institutions.
The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and interdisciplinary research while contributing to the advancement of sustainable development and evidence-based policymaking.
The Maldives National University looks forward to a productive partnership with William & Mary and to the positive outcomes that will emerge from this collaborative endeavor.
