The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS) successfully conducted its Term 1, 2026 Orientation Programme on 4 February 2026, welcoming new students to the start of the academic year.

The event was honoured by the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Ali Shakir, Group General Manager of Maldives Inflight Catering Pvt Ltd.

The purpose of the orientation was to ensure students begin the term with clarity and confidence. Key information was shared regarding registration procedures, faculty guidelines, academic expectations, and professional grooming standards. Students were also introduced to faculty members and support staff.

The orientation began with a beautiful Quran recitation by student Fathimath Nawaaf. BITM student Aishath Eshal Ilyas served as the emcee for the event. The Dean of FHTS, Ms. Zeenath Solih, delivered some words of encouragement aimed at the new students. Chief Guest Mr. Ali Shaki delivered an inspirational speech encouraging students to approach their academic journey with commitment, professionalism, and purpose.

FHTS extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Shakir, as well as to the student volunteers and staff members whose efforts contributed to the success of the event. Here’s to a successful and productive semester ahead.
