The Maldives National University (MNU) has today formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), marking a significant milestone in strengthening institutional collaboration to advance transparency, accountability, and good governance in the Maldives.
The agreement establishes a framework for mutual assistance between the two institutions, aimed at enhancing the effective fulfillment of their respective mandates. Through this partnership, MNU will extend its academic, research, and technical expertise to support national anti-corruption efforts and contribute to corruption prevention initiatives led by the ACC.
Under the terms of the MoU, both parties will jointly identify strategic opportunities for collaboration, including the provision of technical assistance and knowledge exchange. The university will also work closely with the Commission to support the implementation of ACC recommendations and guidance within MNU’s administrative and operational systems, reinforcing institutional integrity and compliance mechanisms.
To ensure sustained impact and effectiveness, the partnership includes the establishment of a structured feedback mechanism. This will facilitate continuous dialogue, enable the sharing of technical expertise, and support the periodic review and enhancement of joint initiatives.
The Maldives National University views this partnership as a vital step toward cultivating a culture of integrity and ethical responsibility among its students and staff. By aligning academic leadership with national governance priorities, the university reaffirms its commitment to supporting the broader national agenda of safeguarding state institutions from corruption.
