The Maldives National University (MNU) held the Investiture Ceremony for Aminath Shafia, appointing her as the Dean of the School of Nursing (SN). In recognition of her longstanding service, academic leadership, and dedication to nursing education in the Maldives.
Aminath Shafia brings with her nearly three decades of experience in nursing education at MNU. She currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing (2023–2026) and has previously held key academic and leadership roles, including Lecturer and Head of Department (2018–2022), Associate Lecturer (2013–2017), Assistant Lecturer (2002–2011), and Tutor (Trainee) (1996–1998) at the School of Nursing.
Her academic credentials include a Master of Public Health obtained in 2012 from Mahidol University, Australia, and a Bachelor of Science earned in 2002 from B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Nepal.
Throughout her career, Aminath Shafia has played a pivotal role in strengthening nursing education, mentoring future healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of academic programmes at MNU. Her appointment as Dean reflects the University’s confidence in her leadership and commitment to advancing excellence in nursing education and research.
