2025 IEEE International Conference on Emerging Innovation and Digital Technology (ICEIDT) Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Emerging Innovation and Digital Technology (ICEIDT 2025) was successfully held today at The Maldives National University in Malé, marking the official commencement of the two-day international event. Organized by the IEEE Maldives Subsection in collaboration with The Maldives National University, the eSystems Engineering Society and the APU IEEE Student Branch. The hybrid conference brings together local and international participants to explore the latest advancements in computing, engineering and digital innovation.

This year’s conference attracted 154 research submissions, with 85 accepted from 27 countries across multiple regions including Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, demonstrating significant international interest and academic reach. The opening ceremony brought together academics, researchers, industry experts, policymakers and virtual attendees from abroad.

ICEIDT 2025 welcomes three distinguished keynote speakers: Dr. Mohamed Kinaanath, Minister of State for Homeland Security & Technology; Professor Dr. Jamila Mustafina of Kazan Federal University; and Dr. Ria Gurpreet Sidhu from Bath Spa University, UK, who will each address critical themes spanning national digital transformation, the evolution of higher education and the role of emerging technologies in shaping transnational learning.

Over the coming two days, the conference will feature a wide range of technical sessions, panel discussions and research presentations focusing on fields such as artificial intelligence, IoT, cloud computing, big data, digital health, robotics, cybersecurity and sustainable computing. ICEIDT 2025 is positioning Maldives as an emerging regional hub for digital research and innovation and international collaboration.
