Empowering Women through Mentoring and Scholarship Programmes

Mentoring and Scholarship Programme

At the School of Medicine, each of our students is assigned a lecturer as a mentor, providing them with dedicated academic and professional support throughout their studies. These mentors play an important role in guiding students through their educational journey, helping them set goals, address challenges, and plan for the future. To ensure consistent support, students are required to meet with their lecturer mentor at least twice per semester. These mandatory meetings create valuable opportunities for meaningful conversation, progress checks, and tailored advice, helping students stay focused and make the most of their time at MNU School of Medicine.

Special Mentor at School of Medicine

To inspire our students to aim higher and work hard toward their goals, we arranged a special session with a Maldivian doctor currently practising in the United States. She shared her journey, challenges, and achievements, offering valuable insights into what it takes to succeed in the medical field internationally. Although the session took place during the holidays and only a few students were able to attend, it was a meaningful and motivating experience for those present, giving them a real-life example of what dedication and perseverance can lead to

Student Mentorship at the School of Medicine

At the School of Medicine, every student is paired with a dedicated student mentor through a student-led initiative designed to provide guidance, support, and encouragement throughout the academic journey. These peer mentors play an active role in helping new students adjust to campus life, offering advice on academics, time management, and personal development. By sharing their own experiences and insights, they foster a welcoming and collaborative environment, ensuring that every student feels seen, heard, and supported from the very beginning.
