A seminar on “Practical Implementation of Human Rights and Rights-Based Approaches to Development” was conducted for the Master of Social Policy (MASP) 2024 students.
The session focused on integrating human rights principles such as equality, participation, accountability, and non-discrimination into social policy and development practice.

Ocean Governance Symposium

1 March 2023

The Maldives National University hosted its first Ocean Governance Symposium on 1 March 2023, bringing together government officials, academics, policy experts, and practitioners to discuss national and regional challenges affecting the marine environment. The symposium highlighted key issues such as ocean security, sustainable resource management, climate change impacts, and gaps in the existing legal and policy framework. The event strengthened national commitment toward improving ocean governance and produced an outcome document outlining policy recommendations for the Government.
