In celebration of International Nurses Day 2025, the School of Nursing at the Maldives National University successfully led and coordinated a nationwide walk, held simultaneously across all islands in the Maldives. This nationwide initiative honoured the contributions of nurses and highlighted the economic and social value of care, under the global theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care.” The walk also complemented the ongoing Fahi Sihhath campaign by MNU, reinforcing the University’s commitment to raising awareness and taking action against non-communicable diseases.
The Physical Education Hall at the Faculty of Education serves as a central venue for tournaments and sports activities organized by the MNU Student Union. Equipped with a table tennis table, carom boards, and a variety of other board games, it offers plenty of opportunities for fun and friendly competition. Designed to support student well-being and connection, the Common Room serves as a popular spot to unwind and enjoy time with friends.

The Thinadhoo Campus volleyball court provides a vibrant space for students to engage in both casual play and organized matches. It encourages teamwork, physical fitness, and friendly competition, making it one of the most active and popular sports areas on campus.
The handball and basketball courts at Thinadhoo Campus provide dedicated, active spaces for students to train, develop skills, and participate in engaging matches. These facilities promote physical fitness, teamwork, coordination, and fair play, whether for casual recreation or competitive tournaments. Both courts are also available for public hire, making them valuable resources for community sports and recreational activities.
MNU successfully hosted the MNU Marathon 2025 on 20–21 February at Hulhumalé Central Park. The event featured a variety of race categories, including the Kids Dash, 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, and full marathon, attracting participants of all ages and abilities. Supported by the Bank of Maldives as a platinum partner, the marathon promoted active lifestyles, community engagement, and wellness. Top finishers were awarded cash prizes, celebrating their determination, fitness, and the vibrant spirit of the MNU community.
