On 30 August 2025, a Study Skills Workshop was conducted by a lecturer from the Faculty of Education, L. Gan Campus, for Grade 8, 9, and 10 students of Laamu Kalaidhoo School.
The workshop aimed to strengthen students’ academic skills and improve their learning effectiveness through practical strategies for managing their studies. Key areas covered included effective study habits, time management, goal setting, examination preparation, note-taking techniques, and approaches to independent learning.
The session also focused on building students’ confidence, motivation, and ability to manage their academic responsibilities effectively. By equipping students with practical learning strategies, the workshop encouraged them to take greater ownership of their education and develop habits that can support lifelong learning.
The engagement reflects the Faculty of Education’s commitment to community outreach, student development, and supporting schools in regional communities.
The initiative contributes to Quality Education by strengthening students’ learning skills, promoting effective study practices, and supporting improved academic outcomes. It advances Reduced Inequalities by providing equitable access to educational support and learning opportunities for students in island communities. The initiative also supports Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening collaboration between the Faculty of Education and schools to promote student development and enhance educational outcomes.
