Semester 2 Primary Health Care students from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), The Maldives National University (MNU), visited Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital between 5 and 23 June 2025. The field experience introduced students to public health, primary care and patient services in a working hospital.
Observing and participating in healthcare activities helped students relate classroom learning to practice and develop professional confidence. The placement also provided insight into how primary healthcare is delivered in a regional setting.
The visit supported the Faculty’s approach to combining academic instruction with direct exposure to service settings.
The regional hospital visit relates to SDG 4 (Quality Education) through practical learning and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through professional preparation for health services.
