Students from Hulhudeli School visited the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS), The Maldives National University (MNU) as part of their ongoing exposure trip, providing an opportunity to learn about higher education pathways, skills development and career opportunities within the tourism and hospitality sector.

During the visit, the students attended an informative presentation delivered by Ms. Fathimath Inasha Shareef, introducing them to the academic programmes offered at FHTS and the diverse career opportunities available within the tourism and hospitality industry. The session provided students with information on further education opportunities and the knowledge and skills that can support their transition towards the world of work.

As part of the visit, the SHATS MNU Students’ Union conducted a guided faculty tour, introducing the visiting students to the facilities and opportunities available to university students. The tour provided a first-hand experience of the learning environment at FHTS and helped students gain a better understanding of university life and the learning opportunities available in higher education.

The interaction with faculty members and current students further enriched the visit by providing opportunities for knowledge sharing and engagement from both academic and student perspectives. Through these interactions, the visiting students were able to learn more about the university experience, academic pathways and opportunities for personal and professional development.

The visit also provided an opportunity to connect secondary education with higher education and the world of work. By gaining greater awareness of academic programmes and career pathways in tourism and hospitality, students were able to explore opportunities for further learning and consider how education and skills development can support their future aspirations.

The engagement reflects FHTS’s efforts to provide opportunities for students to learn about higher education and develop awareness of the knowledge and skills relevant to the tourism and hospitality industry.
