School of Nursing Students Participate in Heart Formation Community Event

2nd October 2026

Students from the MNU School of Nursing at Thinadhoo Campus participated in the Heart Formation community event held on 2 October 2026, organised by Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital (ASMH) in collaboration with the Women’s Development Committee (WDC).

The students actively participated in the event alongside members of the community, helping to promote awareness of heart health, healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, and personal responsibility for well-being.

A key feature of the event was the formation of a large human heart, bringing participants together in a visible demonstration of community commitment to cardiovascular health. The activity provided nursing students with an opportunity to contribute to community health promotion while strengthening their experience in public engagement and preventive health education.

The initiative contributes to SDG 3 by promoting health awareness, preventive care, healthy lifestyles, and the prevention of non-communicable diseases. It also supports SDG 4 by providing nursing students with experiential learning opportunities that connect academic knowledge with community-based health promotion.

The collaboration between MNU Thinadhoo Campus, ASMH, WDC, and other participating organisations further contributes to SDG 17, demonstrating the value of partnerships in strengthening health awareness and supporting healthier communities.

Through participation in community initiatives such as this, MNU Thinadhoo Campus continues to support student learning while contributing to health literacy, prevention, community well-being, and public awareness.

MNU Thinadhoo Campus extends sincere appreciation to ASMH, WDC, organisers, partners, sponsors, participating students, and community members for their contribution to this meaningful initiative.
