Mohamed Umar

Biography

Dr. Mohamed Umar is an assistant professor at Faculty of Education in the Maldives National University (MNU).

Prior to his current position, he worked as a qualified teacher of English language and economics, and as a leading teacher in Jalaluddin School for four years. At present, he teaches research methods, and research project in Master of Education course.

His areas of interest include comparative education, curriculum and pedagogy, educational reform, language and culture, and philosophy. He has developed modules for master’s level courses in Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts, and has supervised a number of research projects at master’s degree level and pre-doctoral foundation. Besides teaching, he loves writing, graphics designing, and fishkeeping.
