Khadeeja Shakir is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing, The Maldives National University, with expertise in mental health, geriatric nursing, and nursing education. She is passionate about preparing future nurses through innovative, evidence-based, and technology-enhanced teaching approaches that promote critical thinking, clinical competence, and professional growth. Known for her supportive and student-centred teaching style, she teaches Developmental Psychology and Mental Health while actively contributing to curriculum development, course coordination, practical examinations, and student mentoring.
Beyond academia, she has extensive experience in healthcare leadership, clinical supervision, sexual and reproductive health, and community health initiatives. Her research interests include nursing education, mental health, geriatric care, digital health, and workforce development. She is committed to advancing nursing practice and improving health outcomes through education, leadership, and research.
