Ms. Fathimath Shiranee completed her Master of Biomedical Sciences from Management and Science University, Malaysia, in 2021. Prior to that, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Curtin University, Western Australia, in 2004, and a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Maldives National University in 2001.
She began her career at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital as a Laboratory Assistant in 1998, later serving as a Laboratory Technologist from 2001 to 2002. Following this, she transitioned into academia, joining the Maldives National University in 2005 as an Associate Lecturer. She has since advanced to the position of Senior Lecturer and, as of December 2022, serves as the Head of the Department of Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in the development of academic excellence, most notably by working as part of the team that established the first Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science programme in the Maldives.
