Adam Khalid is the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology. As the Dean of the Faculty, he is dedicated to advancing academic excellence and fostering innovation within the fields of engineering, science, and technology. Under his leadership, Faculty has established the International Conference on Innovations in Engineering, Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (ICEST) and the Maldives Journal of Engineering and Technology (MJET). Both initiatives serve as important platforms for scholarly exchange and intellectual development within the institution.
He is currently pursuing his PhD from the University Teknologi Malaysia. The area of research is on advanced persistent threat detection using machine learning. He completed a Master of Computer Science from the University of Western Australia (2012). During his master’s, he was actively involved in researching automatic assessment of Java code written by novice programmers. He did a Bachelor of Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington (1995).
He has over 26 years of teaching experience in secondary and tertiary education. He taught several subjects ranging from Mathematics to Computer Programming subjects. He is proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, HTML/CSS, web design, SQL Server, and R.
