MoU signing ceremony between MNU and MACL to develop a Hotel School and Resort in L. Hulhimendhoo

The Maldives National University has signed an agreement with MACL to establish a Hotel School and Resort in L. Hulhimendhoo, marking a major step towards advancing education and training opportunities in the nation’s tourism and hospitality sector.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, underscoring the Government’s strong commitment to developing skilled Maldivian professionals and enhancing local participation in the country’s leading economic industry.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Raheema Abdul Raheem, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Maldives National University, and Mr. Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, CEO and Managing Director of MACL, during a ceremony attended by senior government officials and representatives from both institutions.

Through this partnership, MNU aims to create an integrated learning environment that combines academic knowledge with real-world industry experience. The Hotel School and Resort in Hulhimendhoo will serve as a training ground for students pursuing careers in hospitality, tourism management, and related fields, equipping them with the practical skills and professional exposure required to excel in a competitive global market.
