MNU Thinadhoo Campus participated in the Ailee Haveeru event organised by Thinadhoo City Council as part of the celebrations marking 60 years since the repopulation of Thinadhoo.

The event brought together members of the community in a lively and engaging setting, with MNU Thinadhoo Campus contributing a number of activities aimed at promoting traditional games and awareness of Thinadhoo’s history and heritage.

As part of the campus activities, participants had the opportunity to take part in traditional children’s games, including Rumaa Kulhun and Dhalhu Vettun. A specially prepared flip board game featuring historic landmarks of Thinadhoo was also presented, providing an interactive way for participants to learn about and recognise important places connected to the island’s history.

During the event, certificates were also presented to participants of the swimming event from Thinadhoo to Kafena, which was organised as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations. MNU Thinadhoo Campus staff members Mohamed Muiz and Abdulla Nazim participated in the swim and received certificates in recognition of their participation.

The participation of MNU Thinadhoo Campus in Ailee Haveeru reflected the University’s continued commitment to community engagement, preservation of local heritage and active participation in significant community occasions.

MNU Thinadhoo Campus extends its appreciation to Thinadhoo City Council for organising the event and for providing the opportunity to contribute to the celebrations commemorating this important milestone in the history of Thinadhoo.
