The Maldives National University (MNU) has signed an agreement with the Fahi Dhiriulhun Cooporation Limited (FDC) to develop a new MNU campus in Lh. Naifaru.

The agreement was signed by Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam, and Deputy Managing Director of FDC, Mr. Ibrahim Razzan, at a special ceremony held to mark the milestone partnership.

The development of the MNU Naifaru Campus represents a significant step towards expanding higher education opportunities across the Maldives. The project is expected to alleviate longstanding challenges in access to tertiary education for students in the atolls, enabling more equitable opportunities for learning and skill development nationwide.

The University emphasized that the project would generate wide-ranging benefits—socially, economically, and environmentally—for Naifaru, and the entire country. It is also a crucial component of MNU’s ongoing efforts to decentralize educational services and promote regional development through academic excellence.
