The Faculty of Arts at the Maldives National University (MNU) has announced the opening of applications for its Japanese Language Elementary 1 course, offered with the support of the Embassy of Japan in the Maldives and The Japan Foundation.

This course is designed for individuals who wish to build on their foundational knowledge of the Japanese language and further develop their communication skills in a structured, interactive learning environment.

The 15-week programme is scheduled to commence on 31 May 2026 and will be delivered through face-to-face sessions on campus. Classes will be held երեք أيام a week—Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday—from 19:00 to 21:00.

Applicants must be aged 12 years and above and should have completed a basic Japanese language course or demonstrate an equivalent level of proficiency. With a limited capacity of 30 seats, admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The course fee is set at MVR 2,250.
