MNU Library Conducts Search Strategies and Information Evaluation Session for Nursing Students

The Maldives National University Library conducted a Search Strategies and Information Evaluation Session to help students of the School of Nursing of Faculty of Health Sciences, develop the skills needed to search academic databases efficiently and retrieve relevant scholarly information for their studies and research.

The two-hour session was held from 08:00 am to 10:00 am and attended by 10 students from Bachelor of Nursing.

The session provided practical guidance on APA 7th Edition referencing, including how to create accurate in-text citations and reference lists for different types of sources, such as books, journal articles, websites, and online resources. Participants also learned about paraphrasing, summarizing, quoting, and avoiding plagiarism through appropriate referencing practices.

The session supported quality education and lifelong learning by helping students produce credible academic work. These skills also prepare students for ethical professional practice and encourage academic integrity. By sharing educational resources and research skills with students, the Library contributed to the exchange of knowledge that supports partnerships for the goals.
