The Maldives National University (MNU) has been awarded the International Association of Universities (IAU) Responsible Futures International (RFI) fee waiver to join the 2026–2027 programme cohort, strengthening its commitment to embedding sustainability across the University.
Responsible Futures International is a programme that supports higher education institutions in integrating Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) across their activities, with students playing an active role in driving institutional change.
Through this initiative, MNU aims to strengthen collaboration between students and staff, integrate sustainability more systematically into teaching and learning, and advance its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participation will also provide opportunities for international collaboration, peer learning and institutional self-assessment, supporting MNU’s ongoing efforts to translate its sustainability commitments into measurable outcomes.
This milestone reinforces MNU’s commitment to preparing graduates to contribute to sustainable development in the Maldives and beyond.
