The Department of Public Health, met with the Maldives Food and Drug Authority on 26 October 2024 to discuss possible collaboration in teaching and public health.
The meeting provided a forum to consider how academic programmes could respond to regulatory priorities and workforce development needs in food and medicine safety.
Connecting regulatory expertise and university teaching can support relevant professional education and stronger understanding of public health protection.
The discussion connects SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) with regulatory priorities in food and medicine safety and SDG 4 (Quality Education) with relevant teaching. Institutional engagement also supports SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
