On 21st November 2025, Senior Lecturer Aminath Zubair facilitated a “Marking & Moderation Training” session for academic staff of Maldives National University (MNU).
The session aimed to enhance academic staff members’ knowledge and skills in effective assessment practices, marking standards, and moderation processes. Participants explored approaches to ensuring greater consistency, fairness, reliability, and quality assurance in academic assessment.
The training contributed to quality education by strengthening academic capacity and supporting effective and reliable assessment practices. It also promoted transparent, fair, and accountable assessment processes, reinforcing the importance of integrity and consistency in evaluating student learning.
The session further encouraged knowledge sharing and professional collaboration among academic staff, highlighting the value of collective learning in strengthening institutional quality and continuous improvement.
Through this professional development initiative, participants gained practical knowledge and approaches to support robust, equitable, and quality-assured assessment practices across academic programmes.
