Kitchen Garden Project Launched at MNU Thinadhoo Campus

Posed on 6 June 2024,

MNU Thinadhoo Campus launched a Kitchen Garden Project on 5 June 2024, planting edible crops such as cucumber, lady’s finger, beans, chilli, and snake gourd.

Managed by the TC Staff Club, the project promotes sustainable agriculture within the campus and improves access to fresh produce. Harvested vegetables are sold to staff at rates lower than market prices, supporting affordability and healthy food choices.

The initiative promotes sustainable food systems, nutrition, local food security, practical environmental learning, and responsible consumption. It also encourages staff participation in sustainability-focused campus activities.

The project demonstrates how small-scale campus agriculture can contribute to healthier lifestyles, community cooperation, and a more sustainable learning and working environment.
